A sumptuous and very hearty #bakkutteh, which is all the more surprising when you consider that it was a completely dry affair, with just a modicum of sauce to keep things ticking along 🙂 Reminiscent of some of the better Penang variants! Despite this, they managed to make it #spicy, like wreck-your-digestive-system kind of spicy 😬 I was impressed by the portion size; if you can't tell from the picture I don't blame you, but there are generous servings of #hericiummushroom, #tofupuffs, #okra, and #yuba 😋 Then I also got a huge mound of #whiterice 😅 A smidge under RM20, which was a fair price! 😀

Okay I don't know what to do with this review. On their menu it says really clearly to indicate if you don't want eggs. Which I did, albeit only in Mandarin (I mean, balance of probabilities 😏) So it was a rude shock to crack open the bag of #clearsoup to find, lo and behold, an entire boiled egg waiting for me 😧 I mean, I already had my suspicions that they had missed the memo - those #noodles look like they might well be egg noodles that the restaurant also didn't substitute? 🤔 The flavour was super good though. They didn't try to achieve the slight twist of lard/shrimp paste that the omni ones have, but that was fine actually because there was already plenty going on 🙂 Though outside of the soup, with just the #fucuk / #yuba and the #naipak, you might actually need some help if you drop the egg 🤷‍♂️

Oh boy. This #clearsoup was served in a plastic pouch/packet so I needed to replate it with - lo and behold - a reusable bowl from a different GrabFood vendor 😛 The #wantan were more skin than filling, and given their shape had started to flap about and disintegrate by the time it was delivered to me. Still, a generous serving size given the price, with extra #naipak added in for good measure. The #broth had alright flavour on its own, but of course they decided they could improve it by adding more than a few leaves of the #evilweed 😒 Adding that shit in unadvertised should be considered on the same level as not reporting an allergen

Argh I want so much to like these guys, their food is delicious and thoughtfully assembled and everything (like this #fourtreasure #taiwanese #riceset with #shiitake #mushroom, braised #tofu, #fakemeat, and - erm - boiled egg 😬 The online menu says to specify if you want to omit the milk and eggs, but not only did they not replace the eggs with something else, they even decided to send it along anyway (it's not in the shot above 😒) Like attention to detail/instructions guys, it's not rocket science.
