#smallbusiness #supportlocalbusiness #mmmdonuts #strawberrydipdonut #veganisnotscary #vegandonut While in Barrie, Ontario last weekend, I stopped in at Mmm Donuts Café & Bakery. I have a weakness for plant-based/vegan donuts. I told the lady behind the counter that I found out about this place through reviews here on abillion. It’s a small shop on just outside a residential neighbourhood. They seemed to have a much larger selection this time than the first time I had visited. I was very impressed with what they had, and I tried my best to limit my purchase to only four items. The third one I had was a delicious Strawberry Dip Donut. It’s considered a “classic” donut according to my receipt. The donut’s colour and sprinkles reminded me of a donut Homer Simpson would drool over. It was definitely drool-worthy! The strawberry flavour really comes through in the topping. This doughnut was absolutely delicious and fresh (it must have been made that day). The dip was sweet, needless to say. As usual, this donut was large. This was my second visit to Mmm Donuts, and it won’t be my last. They offer a variety of baked goods. Depending on the day, there could be butter tarts, chocolate eclairs, scones and muffins. I’ll have to try some of these next time. For me, the main attraction will always be the donuts! I strongly suggest going to this place and trying their donuts. You will not be disappointed, especially if you like decadent donuts. I can’t wait to try the others! Everything is vegan here!! This donut was $4.00 (a little steep, but an incredible treat).

I was very impressed with what they had, and I tried my best to limit my purchase to only four items. The second one I had was a delicious Cookie Jar Donut. I love the name! It’s considered a “gourmet” donut according to my receipt. The donut had a layer of vanilla icing covered with crumbled cookies and a chocolate drizzle. I have a weakness for three of the aforementioned items (donuts, vanilla icing, cookies. So to have all 3 combined was heavenly). This doughnut was absolutely delicious and fresh (it must have been made that day). As usual, this donut was large. This was my second visit to Mmm Donuts, and it won’t be my last. I can’t wait to try the others! Besides, stores where 100% of their offerings is vegan must thrive. So I do my best to support these businesses. This donut was $4.75 (a little steep, but an incredible treat).

I was very impressed with what they had, and I tried my best to limit my purchase to only four items. The first one I had was a delicious Blue Raspberry Dip Donut. It’s considered a “classic” donut according to my receipt. The donut’s colours reminded me of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ colours. The flavour of the raspberries really comes through in the blue dip coating. This doughnut was absolutely delicious and fresh (it must have been made that day). The dip was sweet, needless to say. #smallbusiness #supportlocalbusiness #mmmdonuts #veganisnotscary #vegandonut #cottoncandy While in Barrie, Ontario, I stopped in at Mmm Donuts Café & Bakery. I have a weakness for plant-based/vegan donuts. I told the lady behind the counter that I found out about this place through reviews here on abillion. It’s a small shop just outside a residential neighbourhood. I think the daily donut selection is limited, but of the variety six-pack of donuts I had purchased, the fifth one I tried was the Cotton Candy donut. I’m not sure if this donut was considered a “fancy” or “gourmet” doughnut. According to my receipt, I purchased three of each. The total was $25.50 for the six. This donut was large, incredibly soft with blue-coloured sugar and cream on top. There was gratuitous sweetness! Like the other donuts I’ve been reviewing from Mmm Donuts, the Cotton Candy donut must’ve been baked that day because it was so fresh. Up until now, the only fancy/gourmet vegan/plant-based donuts I’ve had were from Joughnuts Doughnuts in Mississauga. The people behind Joughnuts have decided to take a little break. Thankfully I found Mmm Donuts to fill the void. Also available at this place were other baked goods, like butter tarts, chocolate eclairs, scones and muffins. I’ll have to try some of these next time. For me, the main attraction will always be the donuts! I strongly suggest going to this place and trying their donuts. It’s a small shop just outside a residential neighbourhood. I’m not sure if this donut was considered a “fancy” or “gourmet” doughnut. According to my receipt, I purchased three of each. The total was $25.50 for the six. This donut was large, incredibly soft with a ‘jam’ (I’m not sure if that’s the right word) of mixed berries covered with a crumble. It was quite delicious! The Mixed Berry Crisp was incredibly fresh and soft; it must’ve been baked that day. I’m guessing that the berries used are strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. I description on the bakery’s website would be helpful. Up until now, the only fancy/gourmet vegan/plant-based donuts I’ve had were from Joughnuts Doughnuts in Mississauga. The people behind Joughnuts have decided to take a little break. Thankfully I found Mmm Donuts to fill the void. #smallbusiness #supportlocalbusiness #mmmdonuts #fluffernutter #veganisnotscary #vegandonut I looked up “fluffernutter” before writing this review because I had never heard of this word before. Apparently, it’s a real word. According to Wikipedia, “A fluffernutter is a sandwich made with peanut butter and marshmallow creme usually served on white bread.” This description is pretty accurate, but in the context of a donut. The Fluffernutter donut must’ve been baked that day because it was so fresh. Up until now, the only fancy/gourmet vegan/plant-based donuts I’ve had were from Joughnuts Doughnuts in Mississauga.
