Back in Italy, this time in Palermo and I couldn’t help but try the arancine right away.
This place has multiple vegan options for Sicilian street food, including arancine. This version had a vegetable ragù filling, made with different kinds of vegetables including eggplant and tomato.
It was super tasty! The exterior shell was crunchy and savory, fried to perfection. Inside the rice and “ragù” filling was delicious and it even had a cheese-like creamy taste, despite having no cheese in it.
It’s a very informal place, on a busy street with just a couple of tables with stools where you can eat, don’t expect an actual restaurant.
