One of the true pleasures of a five-star hotel's club lounge (in this part of the world anyway 😛) is the evening #cocktail session, where you get #canapes and your choice of alcoholic beverages ☺️ If you're lucky there might even be a stand-up buffet with loads of treats, and I was very lucky because said treats included stuff that I could eat 😃 The #olive #tapenade and the #eggplant #caviar were particular standouts - I had never before in my life enjoyed carrots as much as I did here 😅 A shame that of the hot food selection only the #currypuff was uncruel 🥲 I still stuffed myself so full that I skipped dinner 😬

Labelling fail 🤦‍♂️ This isn't vegetarian because it doesn't contain dairy or eggs, therefore it doesn't get a label 🙄 It's vegan as fuck would you believe. Or at least, the staff ensured that it was so 🤔 What was less cool was the #evilweed hiding amongst the vegetables that actually add value 😏 With the #avocado's general creaminess and the black canvas of the #toast this was readymade for rockets or chard. And they royally screwed it up 😒 From the club lounge rather than any of the restaurants in the hotel btw

I have no higher praise for this, simply luscious 😋 I found this on the #breakfast menu at the club lounge rather than any of the restaurants, I really hope it's available elsewhere too because the world deserves vegan food of this incredible quality 😍 It actually arrives looking all prim and proper (2nd picture), but I thought a more fitting lead photo would be that of the #hotmess that it immediately disintegrates into ☺️ The #veganegg is the closest thing in terms of texture that I've had to the avian sort, and the flavour isn't all bad either. I was rushing off to a morning appointment or I would've stayed to ask the chef what the deal was 😅 The #caviar on top is almost entirely secondary, so impressive is the egg. The #muffin is toasted to a delightful crisp, and just in case this weren't enough for a #breakfastofchampions, you also get access to the buffet. I attach some pictures, the vegan #tamago (think #tofu) was a particular highlight 🤤 I paid $410 a night for the room (club lounge access is attached to my IHG loyalty status), and frankly the breakfast alone was worth about half of it in satisfaction points 😘

The hi tea set costs about $46nett per pax after 20% Citibank discount. I would say the savouries (3 dimsum items - gyoza, siew mai & crispy char siew bun and 1 bell pepper sandwich) were really good. I wonder if the dimsum items came from the Man Fu Yuan kitchen of Intercon? The sweets were also quite innovative but flavours did not wow us much. My favourite was the coconut lime item which was really wonderful! Something special about this was their sparkling tea served in a champagne flute. There were also vegan scones that are free flow but I forgot to take a photo. They were quite good! Overall I would say the hi tea wasn't very worth it especially without the 20% discount.. nothing is refillable except the scones and tea. The dimsum items + coconut lime mousse cake were really yummy, but otherwise everything else not very memorable. Oh there was supposedly ice cream too but I didn't ask if they were vegan and didn't bother to try them.
