Smaller portion size than many vegetarian restaurants, but it’s very filling. Pleasant Assam sourness. The right amount of spiciness. It was a little too salty for me, but it’s alright.

A seasonal dish - until 31 October 2022. Checked with staff and was told it is vegan. For $6.80, you get mee pok with slivers of mushroom, 1 fishball, 2 meatballs, a dumpling, some bits of mock meat, mince meat and a leaf of lettuce. The mee pok was quite Q, even for a takeway order. The sauce is quite salty so must mix well to avoid uneven taste. Tastes better when chilli is added. Default dish is without chilli. Dumpling tastes quite bland and the filling is the same as the meatballs, so it just feels like eating the same thing but with a clumpy flour skin. The fishball, meatballs, etc are average. Overall, an OK rendition of Bak Chor Mee but there are better ones I have eaten. For those who miss Bak Chor Mee, this is a fairly decent substitute. Not great, but decent.

Grove is testing out this new item, please go try it before the month ends if you miss bak chor mee as much as I did!! The noodles, mushrooms, minced m3at were on point. But the dumpling and f!shballs were too doughy/springy (hence the 4 ⭐️, and not 5). (Note: Because this is a new item, I can’t verify if the noodles contain eggs 🚩)

It’s not bad. I love that the rice isn’t just white rice. Pretty flavourful but it seemed like it’s missing something dense like firm tofu or meat-alternatives. Pretty filling despite its small portion size.

A decent vegan rendition of a local fave. The regular dish comes with an egg. Omit the egg to make it vegan. There's noodles, yuba, fried bean curd cubes, few strings of bean sprouts, some green chilli and a lime. Seasonal dish. Hope they will add it to their perm menu.

a roll of tau kee, couple of taupok, mock fish and a few diff veggies (long beans, lady finger, brinjal, carrot slices) liked the sweet-sour balance of the assam curry! ps. the assam fish w rice is bottom half of the 2nd pic, top half is the hainanese chicken rice my friend got (i tried some of the chicken and they made q a thick layer of beancurd for the chicken chop so the texture did feel like chicken!! and the coating was crispy heh)
