Newer series of vegan desserts~ Moist chocolate cake piped with some kind of caramel cream and matcha cream. 🍫🍮🍵 Tbh the matcha taste was very mild to me and the green colour looked a tad too artificial. I can’t eat all that dim sum 🥟 with a serving of veggies 🥦 If you haven’t had black fungus before, it has a distinct, almost rubbery texture. Tasteless on its own, so it absorbs the flavours of seasonings quite well. This is sautéed with some sesame oil. #broccoli #broccolilover

Stacked with a seafood-inspired #shrimpea patty from Japan with a unique blend of juicy okara (soy pulp), pea protein, and konjac 'shrimps', all coated in crunchy oatmeal crust. Reminiscent of McD's ebi patty! 🍔🍤 Personally felt the patty itself had a nice texture but was relatively tasteless; perhaps the panko breadcrumbs could have been infused with seaweed or some kind of vegan furikake seasoning for a more seafood aroma? Featuring pulled mushrooms (shiitake mushroom stems etc) glazed in housemade smoky and sweet teriyaki sauce which was smoky and sweet (but not cloyingly so). Quite a nice umami flavour and shredded texture! 🌯🍄‍🟫 Layered with tomato, cucumber, and red cabbage. 🍅🥒 I got the wholemeal wrap which seemed to be smaller in portion compared to the other rendition with their housemade burger bun bread. CNY 2024 special! 🧧 The star of the show were the Teochew golden rolls, kinda reminiscent of ngoh hiang, with parcels of savoury diced mushrooms and veggies encased in crispy (albeit somewhat oily) beancurd skin. 🍢🍄‍🟫 Another noteworthy component of the bento was the steamed silken tofu with tomato, mushroom, and konjac in some kind of pickled plum sauce, which reminded me of the classic Teochew-style steamed fish dish. 🤍🍅 Both approved by my non-veg Teochew mum!! Sadly I visited near closing hours, so they ran out of the stir-fried spinach with matsutake mushroom which I had been curious about... 🥲🥬 They offered to swap it to other veggies such as Chinese cabbage or braised pumpkin instead.
