I almost always choose the brown rice set here at Ci Yan cos it's so yummy and fills me up just nice. There's usually 3 vegetables + 1 protein and it all depends on what the auntie can purchase at the market!

Thoroughly enjoyed this dish! It was the right amount of spice and the flavours were perfect! My only gribe is that I would’ve loved more tofu and veggies just so that it would be more balanced. I love that their menu changes everyday, it keeps me wanting to go back for more because there’s something different every time! Also their dishes are indulgent yet always light on the stomach so you don’t have to worry about fighting food coma when you get back to work!

Always love my soups as a Cantonese. The shark fin is from a melon (forgot what melon it was) But it was really amazing and flavourful that I would love to order an entire pot to savour. Really delicious 🤤

Looking for something refreshing? This is the noodles to have. Refreshing cold noodles with a sauce that is tasty and fresh vegetables with it, topped with a nori seaweed. Great for a hot day and want something that is not too strong.

This is one of the best vegan nasi lemaks I have tried in Singapore and gave me a new found and refreshed love for nasi lemak. I love Ci Yan for vibe, atmosphere, location, price, and above all: taste and variety of food! Going back to the nasi lemak, I wish they had this on their menu more often because it’s truly delicious...and is my new favourite dish there! The nasi lemak I had was made with coconut rice which gave it a really yummy roasted and coconut flavour that worked well with the other elements of the dish. The chilli was not too spicy, so I appreciated that. The flavours were well balanced, and no part of the dish was overpowering in flavour, which was great. I’m not that knowledge about nasi lemak in order to give a better and more specific review about each part of the dish, however, if you ever go to Ci Yan (before it closes in April/May 😢) and nasi lemak is on the menu, get it! Ooo and they also use brown rice by default which makes happy!

I couldn't taste the ginger, but that's good since I don't like ginger. I wish the serving were larger for its price, but it tasted nice at least.

Dining at this charming home disguised as a restaurant never fails to put me in a great mood for the rest of the day. The menu changes everyday, as it depends on the mood of the elderly couple that owns the place. Everything on the menu is always filled with love and tastes just like #homecooked food 😌 This plate of saucy noodles was no exception - I slurped this up within a couple of minutes. #veganin2020
