Super delicious, soft creamy cake. 😋 Pandan and coconut flavour, with layers of soft sponge and cream. Always great to order a cake like this when dining with a non-vegan - she was shocked at how "normal" the texture was! #veganpenang

Adding this #forthedollar - a regular coffee, but it was great to get an #oatmilklatte in a fully vegan place. This café was charming. Great decor and atmosphere, and lots of vegan messaging, including a big "You are entering a meat free zone" message on the front door. 🌱☺️ On entering, we quickly realised why it was named Brown Poodle Café - we met not one but two brown poodles, both of whom were adorable! 🥰 #veganpenang

Exactly the breakfast I wanted - and thankfully, even though we arrived at 11am, after they stopped serving breakfast, this menu item was available to order until 6pm! One slice of toast with creamy avocado and #beetroothummus, and another topped with delicious #scrambledtofu and fried mushrooms. Simple, yet delicious! 😋 #veganpenang

Not all #coffee beans you get in Asia will be vegan 🌱 and almost zero #cookies you get will be #plantbased 🤕 Thankfully when you’re dining at an #allveganrestaurant that’ll hardly be an issue ✌️ Their #espresso is weirdly good and with all their plugs it’s actually a decent #remotework spot too! 🔌 The #cookie was basic but yummy 😇 I just love #penang 🏝️

I don’t remember how much it was but I’ll get it again 😐 I was a little over-eager after lunch when I ordered this, only to eat a couple spoonfuls and #takeaway the rest in my Stojo 🍰 It really melts in the heat! 🙀 It was #soyummy 🤤 It has a tint of #cheese flavour but nothing overpowering and you hardly notice the dryness that #hazelnut can typically give to a good #vegancake 🐿️ If you have silken tofu based #cheesecake and happen to be a #chocoholic, you won’t be disappointed 😇

They perfected this! 🤤 Perhaps I’ve been away too long but pretty much everything tastes better in #Penang 🏝️ This was so much more #umami than I remember & the #miso so much more thick 🫘 Perhaps it’s the #seaweed too 🪸 I still think the choice of #noodles aren’t great but… it is what it is 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully they’ll add a #ramen option in the future? #bestpicks #noodlelover

Frankly this deserves probably a full five stars (from anyone else). I just can't bring myself to acknowledge that/compute how something with this much #coconut could actually not be ruined 😒 In fairness I should've known; #ondeonde is like coconut central (of the desiccated variety which I especially dislike). They managed to do a good job with the #pandan and the balance of cream to sponge, but I'm glad to check this review off the list so that in future I can just go back to #cake that I actually like 🙃 #malaysianeats

It was a bit too late in the day for another coffee, so I just let my curiosity dictate my #forthedollar drinks order 😛 And that didn't work out too badly for me; this #barleylatte (is that ever even a thing? 😦) was decent, with the earthiness of the barley complementing that of the #oatmilk 🙂 #ditchdairy there are plenty of cool things that you can do without it 💪

If you can call drowning your #pasta in #truffleoil and #oliveoil a valid cooking technique, then these guys are stupendously good at what they do 😋 The truffle is so present, and really exalts the flavour of everything else. From the #spaghetti cooked just a little past al dente, to the #cherrytomatoes and the crispy rasher of #fakebacon. But most of all, of the true pièce de resistance, the slices of #kingoystermushroom, grilled and charred to a magnificent flavour and texture ☺️ Meal slots in Penang are precious; that I'd give one up to have pasta tells you how convinced I was/am about what magic these guys can do 🙂
