Was told this is their best-selling smoothie, which I'm thinking must be due to its name, because it was a bit too sour for me. I added a tablespoon of tequila to make it more palatable. #smoothieTuesday

They were giving it out free samples of banana bread when we stopped in. And it worked! The sample was so moist and loaded with bananas, we immediately decided to purchase a whole tin. ALO has been a lifesaver on this weekend trip. While the Island of O’ahu has many great vegan eateries, Waikiki itself doesn’t seem to have a ton of options. 🍌 🍞 #oahuvegan

I needed a healthy boost before giving blood this morning, and the Blue Dream smoothie fit the bill. ALO has been a great find on this weekend’s visit to O’ahu. But I’ll flag two concerns. First, it’s hard to find! Construction materials block views of the storefront, and the entrance is so small that it’s easy to miss. Second, though it’s a self-described “plant-focused cafe,” it’s not 100% vegan. I was lucky that my server today was also vegan, and she advised me how to veganize the Blue Dream. I would’ve assumed it was vegan by the listed ingredients. But thankfully she pointed out that the “lemon” ingredient actually included honey. And the blood donation was a success! #mahalo #waikiki
