Tofu Vegetable Dumplings (Organic)

I normally would not have bought these because store bought #dumplings have not been a hit for me but my mom got them for me so I tried them. And they were so good! Way better than I was expecting! They are filled with #tofu and #veggies. I like mine crispy so I fried them in a pan with oil. They were delicious.

Hmm . . . for some reason, I didn’t really like these #dumplings. They weren’t so bad that I’d refuse to eat them — if someone cooked them for me, I’d finish my plate — but I won’t purchase them again, that’s for sure. I am spoiled to have multiple Asian supermarkets within a 20-minute drive of my home and tend to vastly prefer the vegetable dumplings I’ve found there. I think these were weird to me for a couple of reasons. Probably the main issue was the skin: too thick! You can sort of see how substantial the wrappers are through the windows in the packaging. I don’t mind a more robust skin when the dumplings are homemade, but in a commercial product, I don’t really appreciate the doughy feeling. Also, while I liked the firm texture of the #tofu-and-#vegetables filling, it was much too salty. I could hardly taste all of the excellent #organic ingredients which were purported to be inside. There was also an almost sourish note, a tang, if you will, which I’m not used to tasting in most dumplings. The ingredients list reveals both apple cider vinegar and what I assume is white vinegar, which is included “to preserve quality” — though I found it a rather unwelcome addition. I guess their value is OK in the sense that I got them as #groceryoutletfinds (refrigerated section) for just $1.99. Even at that price, I don’t think I’ll buy any more. Nasoya has lots of delicious products but regrettably, I wouldn’t consider these dumplings to be one of them.

These #dumplings were so tasty! Love the added #tofu for some extra #protein. That along with #carrot, #mushroom, and #onion gave this a great flavor. Crisps well in a skillet with some oil. Super quick and tasty meal #vegandumplings #tofulover #quickandeasy #quickmeals #veganisnotscary

These are an awesome side for a quick Chinese meal. We used to pan fry them as instructed but now we air fry them with a little oil sprayed on top, way easier and works great!

Really enjoyed these tofu dumplings! So quick to make and tasted great with a bit of soy sauce!
