Plant Based California Roll

This sushi ended up quite better than the salmon one I tried. The rice didn’t fall apart as much, the sushi rice managed to hold together. The crab filling was actually really nice, kind of sweet and flaky without hurting the cute crabbies 🦀. Could have had more of a crunch in the cucumber but I imagine that’s hard to maintain after being frozen.

This was just okay. I prefer their vegan salmon meals. The texture was very mushy and what I expected from frozen sushi 😅

Third try for this brand and I’m still amazed at how good these are! I would have thought pickled cucumber’s not gonna cut it, but so good! Another win for Konscious! I’m a forever fan!

These frozen maki are definitely a convenient snack or part of a meal. I purchased this pack on a buy one get one promotion quite a bit ago and finally had an occasion to try this one! I had tried the thaw method for one of these brand’s onigiri varieties before and the results were not good so I’ve stuck to the water thaw method for the maki and it has worked great! These definitely taste as good as or better than one would expect from a frozen sushi product. The texture is pretty good and they taste good paired with the sauce or a vegan spicy Mayo. I really enjoy making vegan maki and find these quite expensive at normal price. Yes, they are a tasty and convenient product, but the price is high so such little food. I might pick these up again if they were on a good sale, as they’re nice to have in the freezer for a quick and special snack. #vegansushi #konscious #sushilover
