Meatless Ground

This is a great #protein option: #simple yet versatile, not to mention #shelfstable, which is why it saddened me to see that it was being discontinued. Trader Joe’s has introduced new vegan foods, but this one worked especially well for my needs/lifestyle. I liked the tender, chewy texture of the pea-based #tvp. Though a little spongy, it was pretty decent for #lazyvegan rehydrated food. The crumbles were of a medium size and lightly seasoned (but not too salty!,) so they could be satisfyingly worked into a wide range of cuisines and dishes, from ragu to mapo tofu. It was a fairly healthy option, too. Finally, for $3.99, the value was good: once prepared, it produced a large volume of grounds (and the bag was resealable, if for some reason you didn’t use the whole thing.) I hope they’ll consider bringing back some form of TVP in the future.

It’s been nice to see how many vegan products are now available at Trader Joe’s. I bought this meatless ground to use for vegan spaghetti and meatballs. it was very easy to prepare, I added some vegan beef broth powder as well. it worked really well for my meatballs, I would definitely use it again. #veganmeat

Made tacos with this stuff. Seasonings in one pic (just a dash of the cinnamon btw) , lime + veganaise for the creamy sauce. Cooked it up with kale for some greens. (My recipe to you. Measure those other spices to your hearts content)

Easy to use, shelf stable, full of flavors and versatile, what’s not to love. Rehydrate and sauté, or bake on a tray for the extra crispy mouth feel. These pea protein grounds come with basic seasoning as the perfect blank canvas. I recommend a oven bake to crisp it up and extra caramelization and deep flavors. We prepared it into taco meatless grounds. It has various size grounds witch adds a pleasant texture.

These are like soy curls in the sense that they comes dried and you rehydrate and cook. Great pantry staple for a vegan protein. We used it to make pasta bolognese and it was good. Cheap and easy. #lazyvegan #veganmeat #veganbolognese #traderjoes
