I was excited to try this tea after reading about it in the November Fearless Flyer, but I think my expectations were too high. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really impress me, either. It does have an overt #maplesyrup aroma, which actually comes from fenugreek (fun fact: this herb has been used in imitation syrup to mimic maple and caramel flavors!) If you’re an espresso fiend, you may want to temper that excitement, because the grounds in this blend are low key and unobtrusive. It makes a decent milk tea, but even steeping two bags at a time doesn’t produce a super flavorful result. Finally, I wish they had gone with no individual wrapping/paper instead of clear plastic. If this flavor combo sounds appealing, I think it could be easily replicated — and perhaps made even tastier — by stirring some maple syrup into coffee or tea.
