Crispy bacon bits fried and added to a cashew mac and cheeze. Lost a point in the taste category since it had a strong coconut oil flavour. #veganbacon

I tried these in pasta yesterday 30/7/2024) and they were reasonably good. They are quite soft in texture with a slight smoky taste. They come on a two part packet and I’ve put the other part in the freezer. I tend to freeze everything if I don’t use it, even if it says it’s not to be freezed.

La consistenza però non mi ha entusiasmato: è poco compatto e si sbriciola. Però il sapore è molto buono e l'affumicatura non è eccessiva. Ad attirarmi è stato il packaging e aprendo il pacco c'è un'illustrazione che troppo carina! Prezzo onestissimo: €3,50

Questo prodotto mi aveva suscitato tanto entusiasmo perché mi sono detta: non rinuncerò più ad un piatto tradizionale che adoravo , la carbonara e invece questo tipo di bacon lardo come vogliamo chiamarlo non ha soddisfatto le mie aspettative, al gusto sentivo come altamente finto e processato e sulla pasta non si legava bene nemmeno con il pecorino vegan … trovare dei sostituti vicini di sapore è che non disgustino è molto difficile
