Keto Cookie Chocolate Chip

This cookie doesn’t look like the picture on the front. It also has a weird taste to it that is too similar to the sugar free cookies I had used to eat from before the turn of the century. It is kind of dry, and the artificial sweetener taste is so obviously not sugar and somewhat bitter. Nutritionally, one cookie provides 200 calories from 17g of fat (7g saturated from sustainably sourced palm, cocoa and peanuts), 15g carbohydrates (5g fiber) and 9g protein. Purchased last year from ShopRite for $2. Currently, still the same price. A decently satisfying protein cookie. I occasionally like getting their non-keto chocolate chip cookie, so I figured I’d give this a try. Can’t say I’m a believer in the keto hype, but my body felt like it could use some extra fat right now. The texture is different than the non-keto version—soft, moist, crumbly. The first ingredient is oil, after all. They claim the palm fruit oil, an ingredient I’d rather usually avoid, is sustainably sourced (🤷🏼‍♀️). It also contains peanut butter and a protein blend of pea and almond. No soy and gluten-free. Also low in sugar.

A friend gave me this cookie to try. It has a great taste but it is a lot of calories for the size it is. It’s also made with palm oil which I try not to buy products made with palm oil so I likely would not buy this for myself.

This cookie is great for vegans as well as people with food sensitivities such as gluten for example! I enjoyed this cookie. It was pretty much what you expect from the outside appearance. The taste reminded me of artificial vanilla, sort of how marshmallows taste. But nothing wrong with that. I enjoyed the taste. Also the texture is soft and crumbly with little crunchy chocolate chips. Overall I would buy this again if they sold it in Canada. It’s not a decadent dessert, sort of reminds me of packaged snacks id eat as a kid. But nonetheless it satisfies the sweet tooth!
