This is the last booth from the Vegan Festival that I am reviewing. They are a chocolate company that made it their mission to bring the delicious taste experience of regular chocolate into more sustainable and compassionate vegan chocolate. I was very impressed by their creative combinations and wonderful taste and texture experiences they provided. Unfortunately, this was not my favorite. I found the peanut butter to be kind of dry. Perhaps it was just that particular sample I got, but I wasn’t too excited about this one. Each bar contains 18 squares. Each (33g) 6-piece serving contains 180 calories from 13g of fat (6g of saturated fat from cocoa, peanut, coconut and rapeseed), 15g of carbs and 3g of protein. They were selling these for, I believe, $5-6 per bar at the Vegan Festival, but you could also purchase a combination of eight for $20. On their website, they sell for $6.50 a bar. They are starting to be carried by Stop & Shop, and they now carry this flavor for $5.29. #chocoholic #chocolate #veganisnotscary #chocolatebar #veganchocolate #oatmilkchocolate #oatmilk #peanutbutter #peanut #ditchdairy #dairyfree #sustainable #crueltyfree #glutenfree #senzaglutine #singluten #glutenfrei #sansgluten #glutenfreevee

The chocolate itself is amazing. I loved milk chocolate before going vegan and this hits the spot. However, there is less peanut butter on the inside of these than there appears to be on the package. It’s also not as creamy. It’s essentially a thinner layer of smooth peanut butter than you’d expect, and that’s sort of a bummer if you’re eating these to enjoy the peanut butter specifically. A little overpriced, but I’m willing to pay extra for no slave labor. If these had a touch more peanut butter in them, and it was a nice gooey and creamy consistency as advertised, I’d feel like the price point is justified.

This is another bar I purchased from 7th Heaven around the holidays. This one tastes pretty much the same as the peanut butter cornflake bar I reviewed earlier but does not have the added crunchiness. The chocolate is very milky/creamy and enjoyable. I’m assuming this is due to the soy milk and makes me wonder why more brands do not use soy milk for their milk chocolate; I assume perhaps due to allergies. The bar once again reminds me of one I had in my childhood. The photo on the package, however, is a bit misleading as there’s not really a big distinction between the chocolate and cream as shown. The packaging lists fair trade but didn’t have the official symbol, and even if it did that wouldn’t necessarily confirm ethical sourcing. I submitted the company for review to Food Empowerment Project a bit ago so I’ll wait for the result before repurchasing or adding to my recommended list. #chocoholic #chocolate #peanutbutter
