I've been baking more of my own breads and treats lately, which allows me punch

up the nutrition. So I needed a natural sugar that's baking-friendly and also low-glycemic. Regular sugar taxes my poor body so I need anything I use to be low-glycemic.

Agave has been my go-to for quite a while but for baking I wanted something granular, rather than liquid. I found this at my local Publix so I thought I'd try it. I found it checks a lot of boxes:

✔️ Unrefined
✔️ Low glycemic
✔️ Sweet like sugar
✔️ Affordable
✔️ Certified fair trade

Great for baking. I use this instead of traditonal brown sugar. Made some black bean

avocado brownies last night using this sugar and they were perfect.

This is my sugar of choice. Does well in fermenting kefir. Coconut sugar is more

nutritious than cane, offers my kefir grains more minerals. It's certified low glycemic and #organic. The company supports regenerative agriculture. The fact regenerative ag is rarely mentioned leads me to believe it's actually fair trade. Hope I'm not getting burned. Even though I don't know of a resource for #crueltyfree ethical coconut, I trust this brand qualifies as that too and doesnt use enslaved primates to fetch coconuts. I find it difficult to trust anything coconut. Did you know coconut blossom nectar is called nira?

This is a good 1:1 replacement for brown sugar. So far I’ve used it in

a BBQ seasoning mix and homemade banana bread. It’s #organic, unrefined and doesn’t make your food taste of coconut. #veganisnotscary #veganbaking

This sugar tastes great and is great for baking! I love that it is from

coconuts an not as processed as other sugars.
