🥮The English name is the same but it is called 月亮饼 vs the common moon cake 月饼.🥮 I found this at a bakery stall at the Sims Vista Market which is brightly lit with red lanterns for the Mid Autumn Festival. 🥮The Aunty is very kind to share about all the traditional cakes.🥮 I didn't grow up with these, so it is very fun to discover about one's lost heritage 🧡
🥮This is a traditional vegan Moon Cake. Unlike all the baked or snow skin moon cake which use lotus paste and lard, this is a flat cake that is made with sesame paste with tangerine peel.
🥮Its original method is already vegan, being made from flour, sesame paste, vegetable oil, citrus fruit peel, five spice, sugar, salt and a generous coating of sesame seeds.🥮 It does not contain butter, lard, eggs or any animal products.
🥮It seems to be more healthy as the cake is flat and easy to eat.
