Vegan Bobotie Pie

Really tasty! Crunchy pastry edges and softer underside, felt quite gourmet. Sweet and flavourful filling, mostly a lentil based curry, with a raisin here and there.

Delicious! Can’t remember when last I had a pie - but my daughter recommended the Vegan Bobotie pie at Peregrine. Paired with a soy-milk cappuccino, sitting in the sun after a weekend spent camping in the rain and mud, this was fookin’ delicious!

So I was quite excited to taste something new (don't believe I have ever had bobotie in any capacity before), but this was not my cup of tea. The flavouring was sour / sweet (but more sour) which I wasn't too fond of. And I generally don't mind those flavours in curries either so I am not sure what about this I didn't like. The pastry was really great though, and the filling didn't taste dry either which was a huge plus.

Finally made it to Peregrine while on holiday in Gordon’s bay. Delicious pie with awesome flavours and flaky pastry. Will definitely get it again whenever I’m in the vicinity!
