The Hojicha Botanic

This dessert was #tooprettytoeat. Unfortunately it was better on the outside than the inside. Although the cake had a slight hojicha flavour, it was definitely not enough. The buttercream icing was slightly lemony which did help balance the sweetness, but overall the flavours were kind of weak. The flowers on top were absolutely beautiful but tasted oily and gross.

Priced at $12.90 - definitely value for money. It’s freshly baked at the restaurant. Goodness of vegan and so pretty. Not too sweet prefect for my tastebuds. Matches my tea of the day too. #teatime #vegandessert #enjoylife

Light and fluffy sponge cake infused with roasted hojicha, layered with aromatic matcha cream, refreshing passionfruit cream, and tangy passionfruit curd. Really appreciated the slight tinge of sourness and natural fruity fragrance, which helped to balance things out so the cake wasn't too sweet or heavy! The tea scent was fragrant though it could have been even more robust/intense (my opinion only hahaha, my companions found it just right as it was). Beautifully decorated with elegant dried flowers and floral cream frosting. My personal preference between the two new Mother's Day vegan cake flavours!
