Tea Leaf Salad Lahpet Thoke

This #salad is perfection 🤩 That’s right! You can get a vegan #lahpetthoke in Singapore right here at Burma Social ✌️ This #amusebouche is courtesy of none other than this month’s #secretvegantakeover — hosted yesterday, the 10th of November 🗓️ #bringbackdates This will be unlike other #salad you may be used to. It’s not cold, nor sour, nor sweet 🍬, or even covered in an insurance premium of #mayo but #savoury and centred around #fermented tea leaves 🍵 Yes, that means this does contain #caffeine! They never specify the centrepiece other than #tea but from what I could work out, it was cabbage 🥬 It had a #nutty, tangy flavour too per what felt like #sesameseeds and peanuts 🥜 This all was completed with the sour of some fresh #tomato and a squeeze of #lime 🍋‍🟩 There was a piece of green #chilli but you could have easily set it aside. This was not at all #spicy 😉 I can’t sell this dish enough. @m1tch9i swears it’s the best salad she’s ever had. I’ve been feeding her subpar salads for years!
