Steamed Chicken Rice

Expertly executed vegan chicken rice at this Peranakan eatery! Was pleasantly surprised to find the mock chicken meat was pretty on point with the texture and aromatic marinade (mmm sesame oil and lemongrass). Pickled radish achar was a nice complement, along with the sesame oil-infused rice. Chilli could be more tangy and less sweet - perhaps more lime and ginger? Overall this was pretty well done. Would return to try their other Nyonya mains like the buah keluah, which is pretty rare to come by.

This dish was tasty and on point. Aside that it is affordable is also very much like the original chicken rice. Hihjly recommended! The speing roll is many fillings. Must try also. Total bill is only $7.70 including calamansi juice which s very good also.

Rarely eat / see steamed veg chicken like this! Came after seeing @/tamjiakveggiez’ recommendation on IG & FB. Fragrant ginger and other chicken rice spices for the gluten-based chicken. My omni sis said the texture was kinda similar to actual steamed chicken. Love their fragrant sesame rice that isn’t overtly oily (super rare to find!!) & unique addition of fresh and crunchy cherry tomatoes to add another textural and flavour dimension. $4 special store opening price + $0.40 takeaway charge; BYO if you can! #chickenrice #chicken #rice
