The Mess Hall is located on Fore Street and has addition courtyard seating under a half covered pergola out the back, which we chose on a sunny Saturday.
The pea soup was advertised as vegetarian on the menu due to the addition of a side of whipped goats cheese. However, after checking with the owner, the soup itself was always vegan. It states on the menu that they are happy to adapt items on the menu for dietary requirements.
When brought to the table a side of vegan feta had been added for me to try. There was also two slices of oiled, warm, white bloomer. The soup was flavourful yet delicate and had a light drizzle of mint oil. Would recommend.
Along with the peach and orange tea, glasses of iced water were kindly brought to the table.
