A heads up! Mysore Masala Dosa is not vegan because the masala already has ghee mixed into it. Remember to ask for no ghee/vegan when ordering and they will swap the masala for another one. The dish itself is good value - around five dollars for quite a yummy dosa. It came crispy but a bit cold but the chutneys and podi made the dish a whole lot better. I recommend trying this out if you visit Ananda Bhavan. It is a very vegan friendly restaurant with a separate menu too! Just know that it’s not the cleanest so if you want a cleaner and more hygienic environment visit the nearby MTR. On another note, for more authentic South Indian food check out Lakshmi Narasimhan which is a minute away. Edit: Foods giving me, and the person I went with, a bit of stomach trouble so watch out⚠️
🍕Went to our usual haunt but seems like it is some buddhist day that everyone goes vegetarian, so headed to Serangoon Road for Indian food. 🍕 It was really crowded too but decided to go to Ananda Bhavan as they are super efficient 🍕Got the Mysore Masala Dosa which is the special for the day, as I could not resist dosa and potatoes. 🍕 Crispy dosa and potatoes were just the right level of spice. I love the coconut sauce which balances the spicy sambar and lentil curry. 🍕 Super fast for hungry folks. Even the diners were friendly as one motioned to me while I was in the queue that he will be done soon & i can take his table. 🍕 The aunty serving the food is also friendly and swift. 🍕 S$5.20 💖 Day26 #veganisnotscary #indianfood #firstdishreview #southindian #dosa #masala #potatoes
