Whoa I've never had a #murtabak like this before! The combination of #veganmayo, something approximating to #gochujang, and a vegetable #dhal/ #curry on the side meant this was at once creamy, #spicy, and #sweettooth friendly. Incredible right? 😋 #lentils and #mushroom provided the protein, but in fact I actually thought this #hotmess would have been even better with some fake meat in it 😅 I would also have approved of upping the spice counter by a notch or three. But that's just me 😅 The batter was so crispy that I couldn't possibly disapprove - #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease 😊
A huge portion for 8 bucks, very high in calories. Didn’t expect so many vegan options, it’s amazing!
I was afraid it might be too sweet from the Korean sauce based on the other reviews, but I actually thought it was okay. The lentils helped tone the sweetness down, and the flavour was pretty unique for veg murtabak. The dry and crumbled dal (lentils) in crispy prata also reminded me just a little bit of a dal kachori, haha. I’ve marked it down for nutrition because it’s hard to ever call oily prata nutritious, but I really appreciate that it’s a bit more protein-packed than the typical veg murtabak because of the dal! That made it quite filling as well. Mine didn’t come with mayo and I’m not sure if it’s because they ran out, but I didn’t miss it. I think mayo would make it too heavy.
Quite good and interesting take on the original dish.
