A variety of deep-fried battered mushrooms. I thought that the dip would be like a ranch dressing so I kind of got my hopes up because it wasn’t as good. Overall though, this was a tasty dish that my mom and I enjoyed, although a bit overpriced. The format of the menu is unique, easy to read, but for some reason, all three of us, including my mom and friend, felt that it was kind of confusing. Maybe part of it was because the surrounding was loud and crowded. Expected since this place is a bar. Now looking at their online menu, I would have selected something else. Considering how popular this place is, I’d like to try their other foods, but unfortunately, it’s not my type of atmosphere (the gothic-like scenery and heavy medal music, the crowd in a small area, etc) and it’s dine-in only. My friend wanted to get a burger as a take-out for her husband, and they weren’t going to allow that, although they ended up making an exception. I’m not sure if they’ll always make an exception. They’re so busy, that I don’t think they care about missing out on some potential customers. On that note though, I’m really grateful for this place. I’m not even sure if most of the customers even realize that this place is 100% vegan, but I hope that they eventually do, and continue being devoted, knowing how delicious vegan foods can be. #sandiego
