Deep Fried Banana (served with maple syrup)

It wasn't bad, but this left me feeling kind of "meh" 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think I just wasn't a huge fan of the deepfried dough around the bananas. So it was okay, but I wouldn't get it again. #thailand #chiangmai #vegantravel #veganfood #banana #dessert #sweettooth

So one of the things that I don't miss about living abroad is being asked what "Southeast Asian food is like" 🙄 Like seriously, when did I ever ask you about "Western European food" 😒 But. If there were to be such a thing that united this part of the world, then #friedbanana must be in with a shout. Sure, this northern Thai version is like putting full-width banana in a spring roll, whereas many other countries would slice the thing lengthwise and batter (with egg) before frying for a much squishier texture. But it's something. And #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease ☺️ This place serves them with a small amount of maple syrup on the side, and you have the option of adding a vegan ice-cream. Can't really go wrong like that, can you ☺️ #sweettooth
