It felt like a #sweet treat was in order after a hectic week of orientation and my first tornado warning. We previously enjoyed the fresh, original flavor combinations served at this Old Market #gelato and #sorbet shop. They operate on a #smallbatch model, so nearly all of the flavors had changed from my last visit! (They seem to maintain a core of classic flavors on the dairy side, but for better or for worse, the vegan options are constantly in flux.) One thing about Centi is that they don’t offer flavor samples, so everything is basically a blind buy. The good news is that I haven’t met a scoop I’ve disliked from this shop! #icecream #ditchdairy
As a #coconutlover, #coconut #lime sounded refreshing in concept, but the reality was even more delicious. I love Thai food, and it was reminiscent of that; the pairing of sweet, creamy coconut and bright lime had my tastebuds singing. I liked that I could see little shreds of green lime zest in the gelato. I find the gelato here slightly on the softer, meltier side — it is clearly something meant to be enjoyed in the moment.
