An all-coconut dessert for coconut lovers 🌴🥥 Jelly made with coconut water ringed with fresh coconut flesh and sprinkles of shaved gula melaka adding a delicate caramel counterpoint to coconut-flavour galore. Refreshing! Coconut ice cream was dairy though so I gave that a miss. But so glad I took up the staff’s recommendation to give this new dessert a try cos I really enjoyed it. S$16 for this dessert. Restaurant has a separate plant-based menu that’s pretty extensive covering familiar peranakan faves from soups and starters to mains and desserts. Ambience of the National Kitchen with its elegant cosy decor and interesting photos on display coupled with great food and service make for a lovely dining experience every time. As the restaurant is nestled inside the stately National Gallery, going there for a meal is a trip down memory lane to soak up the character and charm of the grand ole dame that is the former Supreme Court.
