Chendol

Wow, savouring this chendol as my new favourite after Old Amoy. You can really taste the pandoon goodness in these handmade green chendol strands. The red beans were competently made and of course the gula melaka was top notch. This traditional dessert store is found at the second level of Fortune Centre and opens till 10pm daily.

This is ok if you do not have any choice of dessert around you. However, to me the taste is average. The combination of the toppings with green rice flour jelly, red bean paste, yam paste and coconut milk will actually make you fed up with just at second bites. The texture is not really balanced. I expected the jelly to be a little bit more chewy and the red bean paste to be not too smooth. This is also a combination of savoury and sweet in a bowl of dessert since I can smell the shallot oil taste in the yam paste. However, I expect a dessert to be sweeter than that (personal preference). However, a plus is that the price is really affordable with generous portion given.
