Cabbage mushroom dumplings

I am a fan of Real Food dumpling. So the new Cabbage Mushroom Dumpling was a tempting try. Unlike the wanton dumpling, this more like the Shanghainese dumpling or Gyoza style dumpling. The skin is thicker and pan fried. I am wondering if the chef was lazy to turn the dumplings face up & seperated when served, the pieces were clumped together. It looks so much nicer right way up right? Looks aside, the dumpling is packed full of juicy veggies and absolutely delicious! See my cross sectional view - not bad huh, compared to the clump on the plate. The sauce is a piquant vingerish savoury sauce with sesame seeds & ginger strips. Unfortunately the strips were stuck together as if the chef has a blunt knife. Both the dumplings & ginger were stucked together with their pals... I’ve always loved dumplings. It’s quite rare to see this combi for vegetarian dumplings from my limited experience. Real food’s stuffings for dumplings is always among one of the generous, and the skin is always thin and crispy. So it’s great!

New on the menu, the cabbage mushroom dumplings. They are really decent dumplings! A bit too oily for me but satisfying and nice to order when you take sceptical omnivores out 😉
