Heard so many good things about bloomers so I decided to try some of their

filled donuts and gluten free mini loaves. I ordered though doordash pickup since I had a giftcard I wanted to use, and there was a promo. You can’t choose your flavours on the doordash app, it just says “assorted”, so these are the flavours they decided to give me. My friend and I split one of each flavour. These were listed as $18 for the box on the doordash app.

Boston Cream 1/5 - the vegan version of the tims donut. this donut did not taste fresh, despite ordering minutes after the store opened. it also had a weird smell and aftertaste and was overly sweet.

Blueberry Lemon - 4/5 this one was pretty good, I liked the lemon filling. Would’ve tasted better if it was fresher, not as sweet as the others (which is a good thing).

Canadian Maple - 4/5 this was my favourite flavour. Again, it wasn’t that fresh and the combination of the maple topping and filling was really sweet.

Carrot cake - 4/5 I liked the ‘real’ carrot cake topping on this. Seemed to be the freshest out of the bunch. Filling was overly sweet again.

Pros: Vegan donuts! That’s cool. They’re also really big and come in fun flavours.

Cons: Sickeningly sweet (yay cavities😰). Really expensive, but that’s expected with most vegan specialty foods. This batch was not fresh even though I placed the order 5 minutes after the store opened.

Overall I was pretty disappointed, after hearing such good things about bloomers I had some pretty high expectations they did not live up to. I also tried their 3 pack gluten free assorted mini loaves which were slightly better (separate review) but still not worth the money.
Open to giving them another chance but at their main location downtown on Queen.
