Cig kofte is a traditional Turkish food consisting of raw meat, but the vegetarian version
comprises bulgur wheat balls instead. These came wrapped with abundant vegetables such as lettuce, tomatoes and onions, making for a filling and nutritious meal, and liberally flavoured with herbs and spices which gave a delicious piquant taste. However I personally did not like the bulgur balls which had a heavy and doughy texture and a bland but strange grainy taste. I will stick to falafel next time.
