Afternoon tea

This sanctuary is amazing, and so is the food it serves! This afternoon tea exceeded expectations, and I would have it every day if I could. The brownie was definitely 10/10, and I enjoyed every mouthful (and sip) of every single part of the whole afternoon tea. Thank you so much to The Base Retreat! Also, the owners are now fundraising for a documentary they're making on animal testing, so do donate if you can!

Wow, what can I say? How to describe the most incredible afternoon tea at such a beautiful place..🤔 This was for 2 of us. We both absolutely loved it. The canapés were all different and original, and presented so diligently as per the photos. The one with guacamole and vegan ham, also had a spot of jam, which I would never think to put together, but it went brilliantly! All of them had a lovely blend of flavours and textures. I love the little additions like watercress on top. The bases were nice and crispy. The sausage rolls were genuinely the best I've had. The scones with cream and jam... 🤤 sometimes emojis speak better than words! There was plenty of cream and jam to spread thickly on the scones! The brownies were incredible. The cute little raspberry and lemon cakes were lush, with lovely thick icing! The figs were a nice surprise, beautifully cut, and perfect. I think that covers everything! The drinks we ordered were peppermint tea, and coffee which came in the stunning jug. My tea was great. There was a choice of several hot drinks. Honestly, this hit the spot, but I would've loved to have had it all again, if my stomach was somehow big enough, because it was a dream meal! Thanks so much to The Base Retreat!!! 😄🌱
