I craved for vegan fried chicken after smelling the aroma of deep fried food that drifted up to my house from the nearby coffeeshop. Hubby, as doting as ever, went in search for fried chicken and found KFC from Veggi House. 

I read the reviews on abillion, and decide to give it a try.

When I first opened the container, I was pretty disappointed at the presentation. The colour wasn’t beautiful. It was such a deep dark brown colour, telling me that they were overly deep fried. I was right when I took my first bite. It was too hard. 

The taste was disappointing…wasn’t what I was expecting. 

The chilli that accompanied the KFC doesn’t go well… 

Well… these are my opinions, and far from what my daughters and hubby had to say about this KFC! 

I have invented a rating scale of 1 to 10 for every dish we bought. I came up with this to better understand my Hubby’s and daughters’ tastes so I can know better what to buy or cook for them. 

So here is the rating: 

hubby: 13/10!! 😱 (hubby LOVES it)

Elder daughter: 9/10! 

Younger daughter: 8/10! 

Me: 3/10! 😭 

It doesn’t worth the S$7.70 for 6 chunks on Grabfood online platform.

Looking at the rating, you can see that taste is really very much a personal opinion. Hence, to be fair to Veggi House and the chef, please take my rating and opinion with a 🤏 pinch of salt. 

Buy KFC and taste it yourself. You may rate it as high as my hubby😋 or as Low as me 😂

The outside is nice and crunchy. Inside is more chewy. 
I enjoyed the first few pieces, but the more you eat, your jaw gets more tired and it doesn’t seem so appetising anymore 😂😅

This is supposed to be fried chicken the vegan style ! Looks crispy ….taste crispy too and almost quite like the real thing. 

Very very nice !!! Not soft so means a little hard for me but generally ok …can manage !!!

I hardly take mock meats because I don't like some mock meat which taste wheaty or soybeanie. But these fried "chicken" had no weird mock taste, it could be the seasoning and flavouring completely masked it. Quite impressive. First bite felt quite tough and hard, a little like chicken breast. The texture was really like chicken breast. My partner said it tasted like chicken nuggets instead. Overall, quite nice! This should replace all chicken nuggets in the world!
