I was floored the moment this was served to me. Was expecting the typical small

portion of slightly grainy liquid porridge with a few slices of ‘fish’, but the actual dish turned out to be whole rice grains in a super tasty soup, and was so so much better. Easily one of my favourite vegan dishes in SG now — it’s so hard to find an affordable, tasty clear fish soup with that umami from the seaweed etc. & without being oily at all. The fried ‘fish’ were three huge chunks of rolled beancurd skin with seaweed, and also came with huge cubes of soft tofu, tomato chunks, lots of
dark green cai xin, seaweed and more. The chefs changed so my fav dish of all time is no more 😭 The

soup is now on the less flavourful side, there’s no more yam cubes, tofu cubes are smaller and the ‘fish’ is now the processed soy kind and not the handmade beancurd roll kind. V sad but oh wellz the previous version takes more time & skill to make :’(
