Whether you're vegan or not Shizen needs to be on your list of to go

restaurants PERIOD. The quality of the food is quite simply amazing. It’s in Michelin Guide, no wonder it’s always busy and has a line in front! But don’t be frighten, the prices are not high and they do take limited reservations which you can make in a month or two advance depending on how big is your party and always can cancel prior to last 24 hours! You can also just show up and wait a little - worth the wait time! The garlic edamame is sooo gooooood!!! Like garlic fries but healthier! If you feel like would like to start with a little of soup, miso cost only $3, but I'd suggest the miso with mushrooms, totally worth extra $1, has so much stuff in it, you'd like it! Ask a waiter any questions you have, your preferences, allergies! One of your friends is allergic to nuts and only 2 of their special sushi had cashews, so plenty to choose from! Enjoy! BTW, #gyoza and #tempura were also good! Ambiance is nice and interior has eco clean look! All items on menu are #vegan and #delicious!

Open Invitation $15
pumpkin tempura, spiced burdock, shredded tofu, tapioca, avocado crema, renkon chips

Honestly the 3

rolls we tried (Open Invitation, Boddy & Soul, Colonel's Pipe) were all phenomenal!! So creative and outstanding flavour!! The speciality rolls are unique and high quality which is why they are a bit pricey but it's totally worth it!! The basic simple rolls are cheaper. Everything is vegan!! I am seriously eyeing that Spicy Miso Garlic Soup for next time!!
Note this place is only doing take out during COVID (Sept 2020), they are not delivering or offering any other services. Since it is a very urban area and no good parks around for a picnic, it's probably best to come here if you are staying in the neighbourhood. I wish they had better delivery options!
