I think when I heard vegan calamari, it was definitely too good to be true.
Replicating squid is a difficult task so A for even trying đź‘Ź
That sauce is amazing, it has this nice spicy kick that’s not overpowering and reminds me a lot of the flavors from a Vietnamese BBQ I use to eat a lot on HCM, Vietnam at Pho di bo Bui Vien.
The fried calamari itself is dissappointing but expected from mock seafood. (I haven’t really found any non-mock fish mock seafood products that’s replicated exactly)
The calamari was very black peppery, but other than that I can’t really describe anything else. It’s like a fried food stick (well fried food ring), but at least it’s vegan so it’s not bad as a fried vegan snack, except when u remember it’s $9. So ummm I might not get these again.
