🍧 This dessert shop is relatively new at Fortune Centre & is called Yat Ka

Yan Dessert 一家人 which means one family in Cantonese
🍧 It does seem like the family owns & runs it
🍧 I tried their take away when they were new but the quantity was so little for the price I was so disappointed I didnt return for the entire year
🍧 I only came back as the bf wanted dessert
🍧 This is their signature dish of black sesame paste. It is really good as you can taste that it is hand made instead of from factory ready made paste
🍧 They are happy to let you share too. The family running it speaks good Cantonese of course and English.
🍧 They are also a happy bunch that creates a nice vibe
🍧 The shop operates til late & has become very popular now
🍧 Only sad thing is they have added beyond just a pure dessert shop to serve meals with meat, which made me hesitant to eat here
🍧 But with the nice vibe and good dessert, I will return

Thick and full of sesame flavour. Not too sweet and vegan friendly.

My feed over the last few days has shown me up for who I unmistakably

am - a #blacksesame addict 😁 This place is of local renown and dishes up outstanding desserts whose sophistication and quality belie the dining room's humble appearance 🙂 Mind you, you pay a lot for this. $4.50 for a small bowl of 芝麻糊 😦 There is a member of staff whose sole job is crowd control; with the long queue, you're not allowed to park yourself at a table until you're reasonably close to the front. Once there, the spartan plastic seating does a good job of wishing you gone 🙄

Just as well then that it was rich and creamy and more than satisfactory. And also, a compliment in these parts, not too sweet 😏

$3.50 for a bowl, you can taste the black sesame. Good thick consistency as well.

But can still be a little bit too sweet.
But not bad option if looking for thick warm black ssm dessert

Went at about 4pm in the Sat aftn, it was quite crowded and had to queue for about 15min, but you get to look at the menu beforehand. And I guess people can finish their desserts fairly quickly!

Blended with rice for the creaminess without being jelak. Ok even for non-black-sesame lovers like

me!
