I think this veggie dog tastes a lot better than the meat hotdog! The pickled cabbage and fried shallots add to the texture of the hot dog and the veggie hot dog itself is also more flavourful (the bread is not vegan but bc its phase 2 they just gave me a paper bag with the hotdog, a container containing the fried shallots and pickled cabbage and tomato and chilli sauce which is quite a lot of disposables)

It was definitely value for price as 1 veggie hotdog costed around a dollar and 20 cents..
I really liked the picked cabbage the best.. the patty had lentils, kale, carrots and some spices, i liked it better with the ketchup 🙂
Veggie hot dog ingredients include kale, lentils, quinoa, onions and wheat protein.
Cooked with indian spices. Can be quite dry. Eat with ketchup
Great value for price. One of the 3 dishes I had tried at IKEA, the other 2 being their plant balls with pasta and their classic soy ice cream. I took a takeaway and the garnishing (onion and pickled radish) were packed in a cute little box. Do add the chilli sauce given because it really brings the whole thing together taste wise. Overall a nice a welcome snack for vegans at Ikea. #veganin2020
Veggie hotdog bun at $1.20 each! Googled about this and apparently the bun ain't vegan! But the hotdog isssss! Personally, not a fan but definitely happy that there's a cheappp veggie option at Ikea! May there be more and more and more veggie options ard us!☺🤤
Very interesting veggie dog! Don't expect it to be anything like a regular hotdog. I liked the different toppings of fried onions and pickled cabbage, but the strong flavours slightly overpowered the hotdog itself, which already had pretty strong flavours from the turmeric. Note that only the dog itself is vegan, and the bun isn't.
The veggie dog has the same ingredients as the veggie balls. Tastes better than the balls because of the toppings. Strange to have fried shallots on a (vegan) hotdog though. Overall taste is fine. ETA: the hotdog bun is non vegan!
This is so average but you can’t go wrong for the price - $1.20! The pickled cabbage was the best bit imo haha #veganin2020
