Not to be a heathen (I am) but I actually prefer the slightly more soggy

and starchy #charkwayteow that #Malay stalls tend to prepare to the more dry, super high heat wok-fried, Chinese alternative 🤭 If the reaction of my friends were any indication though.. this one’s clearly the superior! At the same time though, perhaps I’m just sick of the majority of vegetarian places only sporting the latter 🤷‍♀️ I miss this! Cooked with #soysauce, #chilli paste 🌶️, #mushroom based #oystersauce, & topped with a generous (but not over-abundant 😉) amount of #taugeh, #chives, and #tofuscramble, this dish was packed in every sense of the word! 😋 They had this unique.. dark, very-seasoned, almost #jerky like bits of what I can only presume is #mushrooms in it too 🍄 That almost made the dish for me to be honest!
