The only other vegan #briyani I’ve had that compares is a Pakistani #biryani made by

housemate. My other friend insists anything without dead animals is at most a #pulao or #pilaf but he’s also a South Indian from Klang so in respect to this dish his opinion is categorically incorrect 🤫 This dish is amazing! The #mushroom were so incredibly flavoured and cooked to perfection, paired with a soy-based #mince you’d think every element of it were a #fakemeat. That’s the brown pile of yummies on the side I’m talking about 😇 The #dhal was nothing short of amazing either, not too watery for a rice pairing and not too thick either. Flavoured again, perfectly. Nothing in this meal was #spicy 🌶️ Think warm & aromatic. Alas perfection is not for long to savour. Much like one of my other favourites in Langkawi https://www.abillion.com/dishes/membawang-corner-sambal-gepuk-and-geprek-10234804, this dish no longer appears to be on their menu. Luckily this restaurant is still around. My favourite in Langkawi fared not as well 😢

after a hiatus of a few months they have re-emerged as The Vegan Place, with a fully-fledged dining room (see 3rd and 4th pictures for their style - warm, chic, and locally inspired) and an improved menu 🥰 Yes, if any place in KL deserves to be called *the* vegan place, then this one is in with a strong shout #bestpicks

This #biryani is a re-energised version of the old lamb biryani. For the record, with a RM2 top-up you can have the pulled jackfruit (like in the old variant) instead of the fried #mushroom cutlets. But I wouldn't suggest it, because the new pairing is bomb 😋

The #rice was fragrant and filling, the addition of crispy (fried) #cashews and jumbo #raisins (for the #raisingang 🙌) was inspired, and that #dhal was otherworldly 😌

I have no higher praise, and I know that they will start to aggressively market themselves from April onwards. Beat the crowds and hit them up right now 😚

Why would this be one of the greatest meals of my life? Simple. It’s an aromatic heaven 😍 Every element was both savoury-sweet but each had its own leading flavour profile 😝 Who could be greater for playing our rice this evening than #basmati 😙 The raisins really highlighted the #rice and gave such beautiful sweetness. It was then somehow boosted with the bits of cashew. The #curry had a powerful #salty-sweet smack that was propelled further by the spice 🤪 The okra was simply boiled but with so many powerful playas of flavas, it felt right. Last but not least, the always beloved fried mushroom because #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease 😋

RM23 is so expensive 😭 but it tastes soo good!!
