I’m usually not the biggest fan of chocolate cake unless it’s got a little twist
to it, and I did enjoy this. I can only compare it to the Guinness cake I’ve had from Black Rabbit (Edinburgh) and it wasn’t quiiiite as good, but I think that’s down to personal preference: this was less fluffy, so it was a tad tense without being moist like a brownie. I enjoyed the taste of the sponge and the icing was nice but the texture didn’t wow me… maybe I’m just not the biggest fan of classic cake!
