I loved this appetizer. Tasted like what you would get in Rome . Crispy rice

exterior and creamy interior, this dish was perfect. Tomato sauce was fresh and flavorful.

Omg these arancini brought me right back to Italy. Soft, chewy and cheesy on the

inside with a beautiful crunch on the outside. One of if not my favourite Italian snack.

The other reviews don’t lie: these were absolutely delicious.

I actually never got to try

arancini before going vegan so I can’t vouch for how they compare to the real thing (though the other reviews say they taste like they’re straight out of Italy).

But these are delightfully crispy on the outside and cheezy and gooey on the inside. My friend and I shared this so we went for the four-piece option.

I spent last weekend in the Ottawa area and had

dinner at a vegan restaurant in Gatineau, Quebec. My date (a non-vegan) chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday. I guess my vegan lifestyle has sparked her curiosity.

We shared 3 appetizers / starters and an entree. The first app to be reviewed is Arancini. I’ve had arancini before, but they were not deep fried. Although they were good, deep frying took these rice / risotto balls to another level! The crust was wonderfully crunchy and it enveloped a mix of rice / risotto, vegan Parmesan, onions, vegan mayo and chives. The tomato sauce / marinara tasted authentically Italian.

$18 for 3 Arancini balls is admittedly steep, but I’d probably order them again because they were so delicious!! When they’re this good, it doesn’t matter that they’re vegan. 🌱

The menu was quite varied, so there was something for everyone (except those who insist on not eating approachable and delicious vegan food).

I strongly recommend this restaurant and this dish.
