One of my favorite go to Taiwanese breakfast is rice ball (飯糰), as it's really

filling and tasty.

I ordered 古早味豆棗 with mala rice and black sesame seeds as topping. Love the combination of flavors, with the sweetness from the 豆棗, saltiness from the pickled radish, a tinge of sourness from the pickled mustard green, and the mala fragrance from the rice!

The rice is packed really firm and tightly too, with the fried you tiao adding a nice crunchiness to the overall texture. One of the more memorable and tasty Taiwanese rice ball I had in a while 😋
