Indeed, the vegan ice cream category has grown by leaps and bounds as more consumers awaken to the sheer deliciousness of cool treats made without dairy. Globally, interest for vegan ice cream on our app in 2021 grew over 60 percent as compared to 2020 with Italy, Brazil, Spain and Germany leading the way.
On the back of this growth, we’re ecstatic to announce this year’s list for the World’s Best Vegan Ice Creams where we dived deep into over 15,000 reviews in 77 countries to bring to you 25 well-loved ice creams in 25 regions around the world.
There are big name brands like Ben & Jerry’s as much as magnum but there are also small boutique producers like Brazil’s Lowko as well as Singapore’s Ice Cream & Cookie Co. When stacked at the global level, the top three products are from Italy, with Fior di Natura’s Gelato alla Soia Tiramisù Variegato al Caffè coming in at top spot. Perhaps the country’s deep culinary history with dairy has allowed it to produce quality ice creams that can rival traditional versions.
